Public Services are now suspended at St Mark’s
In line with other Anglican churches, we will not be holding any public services until further notice.
The Church will be open on Sunday 22nd and Wednesday 25th March between 9am – 12noon for quiet prayer and reflection.
Our Church community will continue to pray for and support our parish as best we can.
Welcome to St Marks! We are a vibrant and growing Church of England family with members from across the generations. We welcome all people of all backgrounds and ages. No matter where you are in your journey of faith (you may not even feel you have a faith at all) you are very welcome to come and find out more. For details of our services please click on Services. Children and young people are very well catered for, our family services are short and designed to accommodate lots of noise! There are plenty of groups for all ages at other services. There are activities and events on throughout the week for adults too, please do look at our Adult Groups section to see details of fellowship groups, choir and many other opportunities to get involved. Although we have a particular concern for the areas of Bearton and Westmill we have many member from further afield.
We love to welcome people into St Mark’s to celebrate those special times in life, such as baptisms (christenings), or weddings. You’ll find more details about these services under About Us. It is also a great privilege for us to be able to offer people a space to say their final farewells to loved ones.
At St Mark’s we take the wellbeing of all our church family and our wider community very seriously. As part of this we are vigilant in our care and dealings with matters of safeguarding. Our policies on Safeguarding and contact details for our Safeguarding Officer, Pauline Banks, can be found under About Us.
We are proud to be members of Churches Together in Hitchin, and of the Team of Hitchin.
We are currently without a vicar, so if you’d like to get in touch with us then please contact Louise Wills, who is one of our church wardens, on 07812 520 256 or email@example.com. Alternatively, come along on a Sunday morning (our main service starts at 10am), and you’ll be warmly welcomed.
