On 10th October Jane Mainwaring and Jeni McQuaid took part in a fund raising event for Phase, the local school’s worker project. Ten ministers from various churches across the town cycled continuously , on two static bikes, for six hours, outside Poundland in the High Street. At the end of the six hours they had cycled the equivalent of 168 miles, raising well over £1000 in the process. This money will go towards funding a staff member to work in the town’s secondary schools supporting the young people with issues of mental health and self harm.
