All being well, Christmas will look relatively ‘normal’ for us here at St Mark’s this year…take a look at the flyer below to see what’s going on… If anything changes due to COVID, we’ll update things here!
**UPDATE** We are still currently planning to go ahead with the events below: at present we feel that, based on the guidance offered, it’s proper for people to make their own choices about what they wish to engage with this Christmas. We can’t eliminate risk at our events, but we’ll do what we can do minimise it! For events taking place indoors you must wear a mask and we’d suggest you wrap up warm as the church doors will be open to increase ventilation!
More info about the services can be found below the flyer…
Family Christmas Event – Saturday 18th December 4 – 6pm
Festive fun, food, carols and crafts for all the family! We’ll start with some carols in the carpark at 4pm (inside if wet!), then do Christmassy crafts and eat food, before finishing with a few more carols…join us for some or all of it.
Free event (but donations for food welcomed!). Please note: there will be no car parking in the car park! There are no parking restrictions on the residential streets around St Mark’s.
Carol Service – Sunday 19th December 6.30pm
A traditional service of carols and Christmas readings. A choir will be leading our singing. Come along and feel that warm Christmas glow.
Blue Christmas Service – Tuesday 21st December 7pm
Christmas isn’t always an easy time for some people. There are many reasons why you might be struggling to find hope or joy this Christmas time: grief, loneliness, mental health struggles, or even simply a frustration with the noise and busyness of Christmas. Whatever your reason for finding Christmas a challenge, this service is probably for you. It is a quiet service, with thoughtful words and readings to help you find a bit of light in the darkness on the longest night of the year.
St Mark’s Crib Services – Friday 24th December 2pm (quiet) and 4pm (noisy!)
The Crib service is BACK after we missed out on it last year due to Covid…it’ll be roughly what you’d expect if you’ve been before. If you haven’t; come along! It’s short service especially suited to families with young children.
Midnight Mass – Friday 24th December 11.30pm
A traditional midnight service of Holy Communion to usher in Christmas Day.
All Age Christmas Day Service – Saturday 25th December 10am
A short, joyful Christmas celebration for all ages.
