Scouting Groups

In January 2009 we re-opened the church affiliated Beaver Scout Colony.  Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in The Scout Association and the colony is open to all 6-8 year olds.

Beaver Scouts have lots of fun doing different activities which include making things, going on visits, making friends, and earning badges.  We currently have 20 Beaver Scouts in the Colony.

In September 2010 we re-opened the Cub Pack.  Cubs are 8-10½ years old. Cub Scouts try lots of different activities like map reading, fire lighting, crafts, exploring, computing and collecting.  They also go on trips and days out and go camping in a tent and doing loads of other outdoor activities.

At Easter 2012 we re-opened the Scout troop.  Scouts are 10½-14 years old.

  • Beaver Scouts meet on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm
  • Cubs meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 and 7:30pm.
  • Scouts meet on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00pm.

Our meetings are usually in our newly refurbished “Scouts and Guides Headquarters” in Hitchin but we also meet in different locations in the area for some activities.
